The recent CaminArte event in San Miguel de Allende’s Parque Juarez proved appealing to all lovers of art and culture, bringing attendees closer to poetry, painting, sculpture, music, writing and photography. Event Organizer Daniela Alcázar and volunteer Alejandra García (shown here) even greeted guests upon arrival.
June was the inaugural month, and now July has begun the tradition: held from 10:00 to 2:00 the second Saturday of each month, the entrance is free.
The idea is to create a “Gallery in the open air” and a recreational atmosphere with activities for children such as workshops in painting, literature, and bike rides.
There will be artists presenting their work for admiration and sale, as well as the opportunity for bystanders to witness the process of creation by the artists. You can enjoy the art–and live jazz music–while walking with a coffee or with rich gourmet baguettes which will also be available to accompany your stay.
Remember the old Chicago song, Saturday in the Park? “People laughing, people dancing…a man selling ice cream.” Can you dig it? Yes, I can! But no waiting for such a long time…it’s the 2nd Saturday every month–walk on down!
