Fernando Balderas—a San Miguel de Allende resident for over 40 years—founded in 1994 Grupo SSC, the leading company in design, research and software development of Mexico and Central America. His clients are the most important engineering corporations in aerospace, energy, automotive, crude and gas. And this year, the local TEDx conference hosts our very own Fernando!
In 2004—to meet the demand for highly qualified personnel and the need for advanced career programs—he founded the Instituto Tecnológico Sanmiguelense de Estudios Superiores, a socially responsible institution that provides a quality education to the youth of San Miguel de Allende in the areas of technology and innovation. Along the same line, in 2013, Fernando pushed the creation of the Parque Tecnológico Sanmiguelense with the idea of generating an economy based on knowledge.
Most recently, Fernando has directed his company towards the area of renewable energies and the respect to natural resources of the region. His efforts lead to the entrepreneurial diversification that San Miguel de Allende impulses by having the status of World Heritage.
